The Challenge

In the fast-paced world of healthcare, where time is often scarce, and the demands are high, striking a balance between providing quality medical care and fostering personal connections can be a significant challenge. As designers, we embarked on a journey to address this challenge and create a solution that enhances the experiences of patients, nurses, and their loved ones.

Problem Identifications
The key problems of today's homecare services for elderly people are listed below

Problem Identifications
The key problems of today's homecare services for elderly people are listed below

Lack of Genuine Connections

Elderly patients feel lack of connection with the nurse when the homecare service is designed just as a medical routine that purely focus on efficiency

Mundane Medical Tasks

Nurses are faced with limited time & loads of medical tasks, which are repetitive, mundane deteriorate efficiency during homecare.

Medical Adherence

Elderly might forget about taking the right medicine at the right time due to memory loss. Therefore, reminder are necessary.

Understand Personas & Inter Relationships
The design process focused on understanding the challenges of patients and nurses by focusing on tangible personas identified during a stakeholder workshop. A relationship map was created to visualize communication pathways & identify gaps, highlighting potential areas for strengthening relationships between nurses & patients.

Empathize with Users
We utilized body-storming techniques to simulate homecare visits by stepping into the roles of "nurse" and "patient". This process allowed us to empathize with both roles and understand potential interactive aspects to consider in the later stages.

The Homehub
The homehub is the main touchpoint during homecare visit, where medical data is stored and shared from the patients to the nurses & relatives, supported by actions of concensus. To enhance personal connections between nurse and patient, the homhub will display storytelling prompts that encourage patients to share their personal stories with the nurse.
